Anthropic Expands Claude Marketplace with 2,000 Connectors

Anthropic restructured the Claude Marketplace on September 23, featuring over 2,000 connectors, paid partner products with customer spending commitments, and consulting firms like Accenture and Deloitte all in one catalog.

On September 23, Anthropic restructured the Claude Marketplace, its showcase for companies already under consumption contracts with the firm. The store now consolidates, in a single catalog, three things that were previously purchased separately: over 2,000 connectors and plugins, third-party products built on Claude, and consulting services that implement the technology. According to the company announcement, the connectors include integrations with Atlassian, Google, Microsoft, Notion, and Salesforce.

The most significant change for a CFO lies in the payment method. Clients with a spending commitment with Anthropic can allocate part of that amount toward partner software, while Anthropic handles the invoicing. The company did not disclose what portion of the commitment is eligible, and this gap defines the practical value of the resource.

From a showcase of six partners to a consulting catalog

The marketplace is not newly established. The initial version launched with six partners: GitLab, Harvey, Lovable, Replit, Rogo, and Snowflake. On September 10, Anthropic added CrowdStrike, Cursor, Factory, Gamma, and Vercel, nearly doubling the list to 11 companies, according to specialized coverage from that date.

This week's leap is of another order. The 11 product vendors remain, now alongside a layer of connectors numbering in the thousands, and a third tab for service partners. This includes integrators and consultancies from the Claude Partner Network, with Accenture, Boston Consulting Group, and Deloitte specifically mentioned in the announcement. For those building, the entry point is the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Agent Skills, open standards created by Anthropic.

Procurement as a product

The sales argument revolves around the procurement cycle. In large corporations, onboarding a new software vendor takes months, involving legal, security, and data reviews. A single contract, invoice, and renewal streamline this path for tools like Harvey in the legal field or CrowdStrike in security, which the client begins to pay for using the same contractual instrument already approved for the model.

There is a less visible cost. When a company’s AI budget becomes concentrated with a single model vendor, switching vendors starts to drag along contracts with third parties. This is the same mechanism that AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud have used for years in their marketplaces, where consumption of partner software deducts spending commitments from the cloud. Anthropic replicates the model one step above the infrastructure, in the same week it launched Claude Opus 5.5 at a lower price per token.

The effect on consultancies, from the U.S. to India

For service firms, entering the catalog means competing for demand originating within the client's account with Anthropic rather than just in open bidding. Accenture, Deloitte, and BCG, listed in the announcement, gain a direct channel to American and European companies that already have budgets earmarked for Claude.

The perspective shifts for large Indian IT groups. TCS, Infosys, and Wipro each surpassed 100,000 licenses of Microsoft 365 Copilot in June, totaling over 300,000 seats, according to a Microsoft statement. This heavy bet on a competing ecosystem does not prevent them from joining Anthropic's network, but raises questions about where they will concentrate certifications and delivery teams in their Bengaluru, Pune, and Hyderabad centers. Consultancies currently selling both Copilot and Claude implementations will need to decide in which catalog they want to be found first.

In Europe, the presence of Swedish firm Legora, a direct competitor of Harvey in legal AI, among the eligible products shows that the showcase also serves as a distribution channel for companies outside the U.S. For European offices and banks operating under the AI Act, which mandates transparency in AI systems starting August 2, 2026, purchasing via a pre-audited contract with the model provider simplifies part of the due diligence, although it does not transfer regulatory responsibility from the user.

What the CIO should ask

The first question to bring up for contract renewal is the percentage of the commitment that can be redirected, something that Anthropic has yet to publish. The second is how prices and support for third-party products will be affected when the primary contract with Anthropic is renegotiated or terminated.

The third concern is governance. With more than 2,000 connectors available, the risk shifts from a lack of integration to an excess: each activated MCP connector is a bridge between the model and a corporate system. Companies that have already suffered from the proliferation of browser extensions and OAuth applications will recognize this pattern. The marketplace resolves the purchase; inventory and permission control remain the responsibility of the client's security team.
